What is LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY®
LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY® is an innovative and engaging methodology that utilises the versatile medium of LEGO bricks to facilitate deeper self-awareness, enhanced communication, and collaborative problem-solving. Developed in the mid 1990s by The Lego Group in conjunction with IMD Business School, this technique harnesses the power of hands-on building and storytelling to unlock creativity, tap into different perspectives, and promote constructive dialogue within individuals and teams.

As a SERIOUSWORK Certified Facilitator of LEGO® SERIOUS PLAY®, when suitable, I use this methodology in my one-to-one coaching and in team and group coaching.
How Does Lego Serious Play Work?
- Building: LEGO bricks are utilised to build a model that represents the individual’s thoughts, concepts, or ideas related to a given topic or challenge.
- Storytelling: Individuals share the story behind their model, offering insights into their thought process and contributing to a rich tapestry of perspectives.
- Reflection: Through guided discussions and facilitation, participants analyse the shared models and narratives, extracting key insights and identifying patterns that inform their development.
